On this day, 30 October 2003, postal workers at a Royal Mail centre and delivery office in Coventry walked off the job, joining around 20,000 other workers on a nationwide wildcat strike. The dispute started two weeks earlier when a driver in Southall, London was suspended and 400 of his colleagues walked out to defend him. Management tried to move delayed post to other offices, but instead it spread the strike. A few days later management backed down. This is a short history of the strike: https://ift.tt/2qiihw1 https://ift.tt/2Q5uNtY
